mochicookie asked: Hi :D I really love your art ! You have such a nice creative mind :) The sketches are wonderful, and you can work super awesome with the colours. So i watned to ask where did you learned colouring? Did you just learned it by trying or.. did you do something special ? (i want to draw with colours too, but i cannot imagine how this should work)

I started out just trying it myself, but then I mostly just used darker and lighter shades of the same colour, and blended them together with a blending tool. But now I try to use different colours all together, and not just different shades. 

What really helped me was looking at how other people did colour, and checking out tutorials and such on colour theory and how shadows work. You can find a lot of these on deviantart! They show important things like how different objects of different colours reflect onto each other and stuff. 

But the important this is to practice and try new things! Like looking at a picture you like and trying to redraw it, or just bloppin’ some colours out and then erasing around them or adding a bit to make it look like something. Or try drawing a favourite character that you’re familiar with, but without lines, just building up the shapes in different colours.

You can do it! One each day and you will improve quickly! If it looks like poop in the beginning, well damn it, it will be the poop of trying hard! The poop will shape up nicely in no time
